Forest Getaway
Digital Comics Illustrations
Description
Forest Getaway is a 7-page short story that's whimsical, magical, and full of heart. Created for my university comics class, it follows Faye and her mom on a simple dog park trip that takes a surreal turn — talking animals, a forest goddess, and an unexpected adventure inspired by mythology and imagination.
Creative Challenges
Demonstrate a strong grasp of comic language while crafting an engaging and original short story. Apply the theories and practices discussed in Scott McCloud’s Understanding Comics: The Invisible Art, such as panel transitions, closure, and visual storytelling.
Creative Solution
Create a 7-page comic short using my artistic ability to illustrate the characters and background as well as my graphic design skills to design the panel layout and text.
